About

A neighbourhood counter, not a catalogue warehouse

How Amberwhisk started
Amberwhisk began on a Saturday stall in Observatory, selling leftover croissants and a few trays of ganache. In March 2013 we rented the Lower Rochester Road kitchen, split the room into a chocolate bench, a pastry oven, and a cake fridge, and kept the same habit: bake what we can finish well, label allergens, and tell guests when a tray is gone. We still sell boxed sweets, candies, tarts, bread, and cakes from one till. We do not run a night shift factory, and we do not promise a flavour we cannot bake that week.
- Chocolates, fruit jellies, nougat, and hard candies from the sweet room
- Pastries, tarts, and sourdough from two daily oven runs
- Layer cakes to order with written lead times and flavour cards
Collect in person or write for a weekday Cape Town delivery window. Summer chocolate orders travel with a cooler pack. If you need a large cake, give the kitchen three to five working days so the sponge can rest before we ice it.
