Cookies
Last revised: 4 March 2026
This Cookies page describes how Amberwhisk Confectionery, a sweets shop and bakery in Observatory, Cape Town, uses cookies and similar tools on these pages. Read it with our Privacy page. We sell chocolates, pastries, cakes, candies, and bread from the counter. This notice covers only the shop website you are reading, not a payment terminal or a courier tracker after a parcel leaves the kitchen.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences, keep basic functions working, and understand how notes and counter pages are used. Similar tools can include local storage used by a form script. None of these files change a cake waiting in the fridge, a chocolate hold under your name, or a loaf on the afternoon rack. They also cannot unlock a seasonal tin that has already sold out.
Cookies we may use
- Needed cookies — required for navigation, security, and core features such as the visit form, notes remarks, and oven-notes signup on this shop site.
- Choice cookies — remember choices such as language or layout where available, so a return visit to a chocolate or cake page does not reset a simple preference.
- Count cookies — help us understand which kitchen notes and counter pages are visited so we can improve the shop pages. These are used only where enabled and are not a loyalty partnership.
Outside cookies
Some pages load fonts or scripts from third parties (for example Google Fonts). Those providers may set their own cookies according to their policies. Amberwhisk does not control those files. Social icons in the header and footer may lead to networks that set cookies after you leave this site. Follow those networks under their own rules.
How to manage cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you disable needed cookies, parts of the site may not work as expected, including a form that sends a note to [email protected]. You can also write through the visit page if you have questions about cookies on this shop site. Blocking cookies here does not cancel a cake date, a chocolate hold, or a bread order, because those live in the kitchen diary, not in your browser.
Revisions
We may update this Cookies page when our tools or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Last revised 4 March 2026. Continued use of the shop site after an update means you should re-read this page if cookie tools on the notes or counters have changed. Amberwhisk remains a neighbourhood bakery counter in Observatory.
